Timber Single Cold Frame for overwintering plants that may be vulnerable to frosts or for bringing on your summer bedding plants.
Made here in Dorset, to a very high standard, our Cold Frames are constructed of pressure treated timber throughout with 21mm thick board on to a 35mm timber frame and with twin-wall polycarbonate roofs mounted on timber framing. Very robust and built to last.
This Small Single Cold Frame is approx. 2ft 6in wide x 3ft deep, it has a single hinged lid made of a translucent polycarbonate to allow light and heat in, and with a hasp and staple catch to hold it in place when closed. The lid can be propped open halfway on a stay or fully opened and held on a chain.
Cold Frames can be used all year round, not only for propagating and hardening off in the Spring, but also to over-winter vulnerable plants. Depending on what they are made of, they can be moved regularly and set up on soil, concrete, gravel or paved areas as space allows; they can be directly filled with soil to take the plants or are more normally used to house the plants in their pots.
Externally: 76cm wide x 95cm deep (front to back) and 49cm high at the back.
Internally: 71cm W x 90 cm D x 43cm H (37cm at the front).
Delivery: We despatch Cold Frames in panels via courier for simple self assembly (all fixings and full instructions provided).
